It’s Time for Pi(e)!

A few months ago, I was approached by Ann Clark Cookie Cutters, with the opportunity to help them design a new cookie cutter. Since our cookbook, The New Pie: Modern Techniques for the Classic American Dessert, is being released on Pi(e) Day, why not design a pi symbol cutter to help celebrate?

Why a pi symbol? The value of pi equals 3.14 and every year 3/14 (March 14) is celebrated as Pi Day. Since I’m not a total math geek, we celebrate March 14 as Pi(e) Day—a celebration of all things pie!

But Pi(e) Day isn’t just for pie bakers! We didn’t want to leave our cookie decorating family out of all the fun! This pi cookie cutter is now available as part of the Flour Sugar Butter collection manufactured by Ann Clark Cookie Cutters!

If you are not familiar with them, Ann Clark cookie cutters is the largest cookie cutter manufacturer in America. All of their cutters are made in the USA and constructed from metal so they are very durable. I have a lot of cookie cutters, and I love how these cutters slice easily through both my refrigerated and frozen cookie doughs.

When deciding how to decorate these pi cookies, I thought it would be fun to actual pie use an actual pie theme! Pie slices, whole pies, and even pie à la mode!

Start celebrating your love of pie (or pi!) this year.

Go to the Ann Clark website to purchase the pi cookie cutter from Flour Sugar Butter manufactured by Ann Clark Cookie Cutters.

The ice cream stencil on the pi(e) à la mode cookies can be purchased from CANKEEP’s shop on Etsy.
