We are the team behind Flour Sugar Butter!

By day, we are scientists, but our nights and weekends are spent as home baking enthusiasts, competitive bakers, and award-nominated cookbook authors. We have both been baking in some form or another since we were children, but as adults we use our scientific knowledge to develop and test our own recipes out of our home in Atlanta, Georgia.

We have also written our first cookbook, The New Pie, that was released in March 2019. Published by Clarkson Potter/Publishers, it has more than 75 recipes that re-invent the classic American dessert pie with fun and delicious flavors (birthday cake, root beer float, and Tahitian pineapple) and modern cooking techniques.

The New Pie is a finalist for two cookbook awards from the International Association of Culinary Professionals: Best Baking/Dessert book and Best Single Subject book. We are also nominees for 2020 Georgia Author of the Year. Order The New Pie now!

Our passion for baking led us to enter competitive baking contests. A few times per year, we enter our creations in a number of local and national baking competitions. Since 2011, we have earned a combined total of more than 600 awards in baking contests, including Best of Show at the American Pie Council National Pie Championships.

We have been featured in the New York Times, TASTECreative Loafing, Delish, and on Food Network.
